The furniture is made of bent
hickory with either red oak, white oak, or walnut. The hickory wood
is selected in the hardwood forests of southern Indiana, cut, trimmed,
hauled to the shop and cut to length. After drying, the knots are
sawed off and the sticks are sanded smooth with the bark left on.
The main pieces are steamed and bent to shape on forms. Other pieces
are bent and nailed directly to the furniture from the steamer. The
furniture adapts well to many types of decor, especially lodge and
country ranch living.
